WSACCO STAFF CHALLENGED TO DOUBLE THEIR EFFORTS

The Chief Executive Officer Wazalendo SACCO Col Joseph Freddy Onata called upon of Wazalendo SACCO to double their efforts to suit the new levels they have been promoted to. The CEO made the remarks at WSACCO Headquarter in Kiwatule Kampala where he presided over a promotions ceremony organized by the staff through their welfare Association to celebrate those who were recently promoted to different ranks and appointments.

Col Onata congratulated the staff upon their new achievement which he said were well deserved and acquired on merit due to their hard work and selfless sacrifice towards the success of the institution.
The CEO further applauded the UPDF leadership with the guidance of the commander in chief for recognizing the efforts of the officers who were promoted by elevating them to higher ranks. In the same spirit he appreciated the Board of Directors and Management of WSACCO for internally identifying the staff potentials and lifting them to other levels of higher responsibilities within the institution.
He appreciated the spouses of the promoted staff for supporting them which has helped them to remain steady, focused and functional at their duty stations. “You play a key role in all our achievements”, Col Onata spoke to spouses.

He called upon the newly promoted staff to look at their promotions as added responsibilities which will draw higher level of assessment, and expectations in terms of service delivery. “I encourage you to maintain the good working relationships with those you have left behind, you are expected to be exemplary and I expect to see change in performance I also expect a vibrant institution” the CEO stressed.
In his concluding remarks the CEO pledged to continue mentoring the staff, supporting them and learning from them for the betterment of Wazalendo SACCO and UPDF as a whole.
The Director of Finance Lt Col Yusuf Buha Magero thanked the UPDF/Wazalendo leadership for recognizing the efforts of the staff day after day, which eventually yields to promotions that were celebrated.
‘’I am so grateful being part of the promoted team and for witnessing this delightful event organized for us, I cannot take my leaders decision to promote us for granted’’.
Buha asked those who were not considered for promotions to be patient while running their own races and he emphasized discipline, determination and faithfulness as key.

Maj Jackson Mugenyi who spoke on behalf of the promoted officers appreciated Wazalendo SACCO for putting their promotions in consideration and for always mentoring them to make them valuable staff.
The promotions were in 02 categories, the first category was part of the recent UPDF promotions of officers and the second category was the internal promotions by WSACCO in terms of appointments which involved civilian staff and militants as follows; 02 Lieutenant Colonels from majors, 01 Major from Captain,05 Captains from Lieutenants, 01 Lieutenant from 2Lieutenatnt, 01 Staff was promoted to a legal assistant from a legal clerk and 01 from a cashier to a branch accountant.

In attendance also was, Assistant Political Commissariat Lt Col Akasius Mpabaisi, Head Finance Maj Julius Katanaka, Head Information Technology Maj Arthur Kwezi and all heads of departments and staff of WSACCO.
