HON GEN SAM KAVUMA CALLS UPON WAZALENDO SACCO STAFF AND MEMBERS TO PREPARE FOR LIFE AFTER SERVICE

Gen Sam Kavuma who is the Chairman Board of Directors of Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) challenged the management staff of WSACCO to work hard and prepare for life in retirement. He noted that just like the Holy books – the Quran and the Bible state that any human being who is born is assured of living and dying. The two books also give assurance that not everyone who dies will enjoy life after death but only those who are prepared. He said that in a similar way not everyone who gets employed will enjoy life in retirement. It is only those who have prepared especially by utilizing good services rendered by WSACCO while they are still on job to invest will live happily after retiring. 

 

The chairman made the remarks during WSACCO’s thanks giving ceremony and end of year party held at SKYZ Hotel in Naguru Kampala on 22nd December 2022. 

 

“The reason I authorized such celebrations was to thank God for having kept us well, given us wisdom and the strength that enabled us to register the achievements that we often celebrate. Since 2020, we have gone through difficult challenges including COVID 19 and other strains in the economy. The second reason is to appreciate the members of management staff who are the foundation of our collective success.

 

“Their efforts especially for the lower cadres may not be noticed by the general public but we know that they are the unseen strong foundation that holds the shinning WSACCO. I salute the management staff for the great work. I also thank my colleagues at the BOD and SUPCO for the guidance. Team work is paramount because there is no one that can achieve in an organization without the input of the others. I encourage you to continue working together to serve our members”. Gen Kavuma noted.

 

The chairman asked the staff to take advantage of the prevailing peace and security to invest and create wealth and prepare for life after retirement. 

 

The Chairman Supervisory Committee Col Justus Rukundo, thanked God for the protection throughout the year and for enabling the institution to maintain the high standards of service delivery and growth.

“I thank the management team under the leadership of the CEO for the teamwork and good service delivery to our members. The SUPCO we shall continue guiding and working together with management to achieve the objectives of WSACCO”. Col Rukundo noted.

 

The Chief Executive Officer of Wazalendo SACCO Col Joseph Freddy Onata congratulated the staff upon a successful year 2022 and for remaining focused amidst the economic challenges across the globe.

 

“Today we are gathered here to reflect on our successes, failures and future plans. We shall build on our successes, improve on areas where we failed and concretize our plans in order to perform better next year. In the same way at personal level, each one of us must reflect on our individual contribution to the growth of the institution, how many new relationships and connections we built for WSACCO. We now need to check and fill gaps where they are if we are to sustain the high standard we have set”. Col Onata said. 

 

The CEO applauded the staff for supporting him to achieve the objectives of WSACCO. He also encouraged them to continue with the zeal and make their individual contribution towards the common goal and the collective mandate.

 

Onata commended the immense support that management continues to receive from the BOD and SUPCO which enabled Management to deliver almost all the targets set for the year 2022. 

 

He also appreciated the families of the staff who are always working in the background and praying for WSACCO to deliver. He advised the staff to reciprocate that support by being good to their families by giving them even better support in return in times of need.

 

During the event, the members of the Board of Directors were recognized and given certificates in appreciation of their dedicated service to the SACCO.

 

The ceremony was attended by members of the BOD, SUPCO, top management, staff and invited guests.
