MEMBER TRANSFORMATION IS BEHIND OUR INNOVATIONS

The Chairman Board of Directors Wazalendo SACCO Maj Gen Sam Kavuma has called upon the leadership and staff of WSACCO to focus on member transformation through excellent service delivery. He made these remarks opening WSACCO’s cash branch in Kampala City at Social Security house on the 18th March 2022.

Wazalendo SACCO currently has a branch network of 19 branches out of which five are cash operating.

Gen Kavuma thanked God for the milestone and appreciated all key stakeholders especially the three organs of the SACCO ( BOD, SUPCO and Management staff).

” Our growth is as a result of hard work. This milestone is evidence of our strategic focus, team spirit and hard work” said Kavuma.

Gen Kavuma noted that celebrating such achievements should not be a showoff ceremony but should impact the service delivery and the lives of the great members who have made the SACCO stand by saving and utilizing our products and services. He called upon management to continue sensitizing and encouraging members to continue saving in their SACCO to accumulate savings and making meaningful investments.

Kavuma commended the team spirit at Wazalendo SACCO but also discouraged individualism and selfishness among some players.

In his concluding remarks, he advised the WSACCO BOD,SUPCO and Management to work as a football team where different players handle specific roles while collectively focusing on scoring goals for the team and winning as team.

The vice chairman of Wazalendo SACCO Lt Col Allan Kitanda applauded the management team led by Chief Executive Officer for the great work furtherance of the vision and mission of Wazalendo SACCO. He added that the Board and SUPCO come once in awhile for strategic purposes but the most of the operations of the SACCO are handled by the management staff without whom nothing much can be achieved by the other organs.
WSACCO has a dedicated team of men and women with a potential to lead WSACCO to greater heights” Lt Col Kitanda stressed.

He advised management to adopt a culture of having get together events for team building, and enhancing working relationships.

The Chief Executive Officer Wazalendo Col Joseph Freddy Onata appreciated the great support by the Board of Directors who have always supported management in implementing their ideas for the greater good of the SACCO.

Onata said that the innovations such as opening cash operating branches are one way of fulfilling WSACCO’s core value of Convenience.

He added that Kampala City branch has been carefully located at the city center to take care of the concentration of the members in the areas of; General Military Headquarters, Mbuya, 1Division Headquarters Kakiri as well as special forces command.

“Kampala is where we have heavy concentration of our forces and the City branch is going to do great service to our members by reducing the distances that they have to travel to access services”, Col Onata noted .
He stressed the individual responsibility to take advantage of the opportunities and services that WSACCO’s City branch offers to improve their lives .

Onata appreciated the partners that have stood and worked with WSACCO over the years especially Post Bank (U) Ltd for the support they have always rendered to the institution from the time WSACCO was registered until now when WSACCO is able to stand to take such strides. He said that he looks forward to continued cooperation in that regard.

The Director Operations Mr William Atalyeba said that they have worked day and night to ensure good infrastructure is put in place to deliver good services to the members.

Mr Atalyeba encouraged the staff to continue with the zeal to work towards ensuring better service delivery to the members that in the long run shall boost the general growth of the SACCO.
