Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) hosted 400 Junior Non-Commissioned Officers (JNCOs) on a study tour at the SACCO headquarter in Kiwatule .The students are currently undergoing a four-month leadership course at Hima Training School in Kasese District. The Head of Human Resource  and Administration of WSACCO , Lt Col Wesley Aine who represented the Chief Executive Officer fulfilling its vision er Col Joseph Freddy Onata, emphasized the importance of WSACCO in Helping members manage their finances effectively. 16th October 2024 Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society(WSACCO) has been commended for demonstrating the power of the cooperatives business model in equitable wealth creation and building resilient communities through focusing on  the welfare of its members and strategic community engagements. UPDF, WAZALENDO SACCO LEADERS ADVISED TO GUARD AGAINST CORRUPTION TENDENCIES 16th September 2024 The Commander Land Force, Lieutenant General Kayanja Muhanga, has cautioned Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) and Wazalendo SACCO leaders to safeguard the SACCO against corruption, citing recent rampant cases of mismanagement of government funds. Lt Gen Kayanja made the remarks while speaking at the closure of a two-day strategic retreat organized by Wazalendo’s Board of Directors to review and refine its five year strategic plan . WAZALENDO SACCO FLAGS OFF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMMERCIAL COMPLEX IN ARUA CITY 14th August 2024 In an effort to extend services closer to its members, Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) has flagged off the construction of a commercial Complex that will house its Arua cash operating branch and also offer rentable space for the public in Arua City at plot 8 School Road. The Resident District Commissioner of Arua City, Mr Charles Ichogor, who flagged off the construction appluaded the President of Uganda His Excellency YK Museveni, the Commander in Chief of the armed forces for the vision of professionalizing the army and establishing a SACCO. WAZALENDO SACCO ENGAGES WITH UGANDAN TROOPS IN SOMALIA AND DRC 13th July 2024 The Board of Directors of Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society has completed a 10-day mobilisation drive in mission areas of Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, from 2 to 11 July 2024. UCSCU ADVISED TO CONSIDER DEVELOPING MEN’S MENTORSHIP PROGRAM 24th May 2024 Uganda Copperative Savings and Credit Union-UCSCU has been urged to work with African Confederation Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) to develop a Men’s Mentorship Program for men in cooperatives in order to have a synergy between men and women who are mentored and empowered at the same level. WAZALENDO SACCO HOSTS THE 3RD WOMEN’S COHORT UNDERGOING MENTORSHIP PROGRAM AT UCSCU 22nd May 2024 Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society ( WSACCO) hosted womenn leaders drawn from 13 SACCOs across the country who are undergoing women mentorship program at the Uganda Cooperative Savings and Credit Union (UCSCU). WAZALENDO SACCO DELEGATES AND STAFF UNDERGO DEVELOPMENT EDUCATORS TRAINING   2nd May 2024   Wazalendo SACCO delegates and staff have graduated after four day’s training on Development Educators (DE) program focusing on the SACCO business model and Philosophy. WAZALENDO SACCO SUPPORTS BUSOGA COMMUNITY WITH MEDICAL AND SCHOOL ITEMS 27th January 2024 Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society has donated items valued at 50 million shillings that included 20 hospital delivery beds, 600 mama kits and a pledge of 600 dozens of exercise books. The items were delivered during the official launch of Tarehe Sita activities in Busoga subregion that took place at Buyende District. Tarehe Sita is a day celebrated to commemorate the launch the National Resistance Movement (NRM)/ National Resistance Army (NRA) struggle that culminated into the liberation of Uganda from the forces of tyranny on 26th January 1986. ENGINEERS BRIGADE ARE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS AS AIR FORCE WINS NETBALL AT THE CDF’S CUP 12th September 2023 The 15th Edition of the Chief of Defence Forces Cup tournament ended at Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara City. The two-week event attracted 19 football teams and 12 netball teams drawn from the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces Formations and Units. The breath-taking final match between the Air Force and Engineers Brigade ended 1 all in the 90 minutes and was decided by a penalty shootout which Engineers wom 4 : 1. Air Force were winners in netball beating UPDF Headquarters by 40:35. WAZALENDO SACCO SUPPORTS SPORTS Today 3rd September 23 Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) has donated sports uniforms and balls to 19 football teams and 12 netball teams that are participating in the 15th edition of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF’s) Cup hosted by 2 Infantry Division in Mbarara City. The tournament commenced on 3rd September 2023. While flagging off the tournament, the acting 2 Infantry Division Commander Brig Gen Paul Muhanguzi who represented the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Wilson Mbadi , commended the UPDF leadership for choosing 2 Infantry Division to host this year’s tournament.
